On March 25th, eight teams from Okaloosa and Walton County participated in the 2nd FLL Jr Expo this season. Striving for Perfection was awarded the FIRST Foundation grant for WeDo 2.0 kits and initial registration fees. The City of Fort Walton Beach donated toward event fees and volunteered as coaches and reviewers along with others from the community. On March 9th the first FLL Jr Expo of the season was hosted at Walker Elementary School. Students in grades K-4 demonstrated their motorized LEGO model, displayed their tri-fold posters, and answered questions about how they created their project. The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 2556, the RadioActive Roaches robotics team from Niceville High School demonstrated their competition robot which picks up balls and shoots them in the air.
On March 4th, seven teachers from Santa Rosa County and three from Montgomery, AL learned EV3 and WeDo 2.0 programming along with FLL Mission Planning at University of West Florida in Pensacola.
Teachers from several counties gathered at the George T McCutchan Airport on Saturday March 25th to do stem activities and attend workshops. General McCutchan invited the group back on Sunday, February 26 to fly in World War II planes.

The top 16 teams out of 48 teams in the region competed in the FIRST LEGO League Florida Northwest Regional Championship on Saturday, February 18th.
